PBJ Drive and High School Fair- Community Service Hours

               The PBJ drive, sponsored by the honor society in 2016, was completed as community service towards the people in need. It was completed as a result of a team effort since it was a collaboration of making PBJ sandwiches towards the needy. This very event contributed towards working together as a team as well as developing extra skills as a skill set. In this case, it contributed towards cooking skills in a minor way since making PBJ sandwiches is kitchen work. It was also very enjoyable to make such sandwiches in a such a unique way as a team. We were instigated to make sandwiches that were stacked together in doubles, triples and quadruples by accident. It was such a messy process that we even ended up having extras to eat as a matter of fact. Thus, this event has increased my bond with the NHS members and has developed a strong sense of comradeship and team collaboration.
               The CTE high school fair was held in Brooklyn at an institution/school where it hosted a high school fair. There were plenty of schools that were sponsoring their academies and programs to different viewers and customers. I also learned a lot by asking other schools about what they were offering. Personally, I gained a better insight at a how each school was conducting their teachings and how exactly it differs from our programs. There was one high school where they taught python and 3D Unity software to be used. This was used to develop advanced graphic games to be played and developed as well. Overall, the experience there was really helpful in learning how to understand our class and its importance to us as a class and individually as well.

                              The objective of this lab was to create a rock, paper, scissors game though the use of JavaScript. This lab was specifically a challenge due to the troublesome errors that're associated with such game specifically with the JavaScript. With the experience of code Academy, I've learned that code Academy teaches JavaScript on a different level which is the basics which don't correspond with what we used in this lab. The Javascript used was from a reference website that's not from w3schools.com. OSHA Labor Laws

                   This workshop gave a better insight into how government regulations help protect workers and how we should pay attention to these laws ourselves.  By knowing more about these OSHA laws, it can help better prepare us for future injuries as well as future shortcomings that may impact us negatively. By countering it properly, it can help us cope with these misfortunes by knowing more about these labor laws. In this workshop, it's taught us that whatever may come as a result or working, it must be notified to the supervisor or the boss of the workplace so that it can be dealt with properly. There was one video where it demonstrated a girl's issue with the workplace where she suffered a disastrous injury which crippled her for life. WBL Reflection journal

                Throughout my high school experience, I've learned to use my WBL experience for it to become a valuable asset in the future. Due to instilled values that are gained throughout the process, it's made me a better person in understanding the workplace in current time. I've learned to pace myself in the ways of an employed person throughout my internships and even in the classroom. Plus, it's given better control into how I perceive the future outcomes of assignments and my own decisions as well.
